Here you can find locations on the mainland of the Guild and it will eventually develop outwards, more locations being created as well as other continents as well. If you have any suggestions, please let me know and I can work on getting something created, even if it is just a picture that you liked and thought it would make a cool location.
The Dead Lands
Located about 50 miles away from The Hunters Guild lay a vast expanse of nothingness. The ground was dry and cracked clay from being under the sun for long periods of time. It had once been under water but now was completely exposed to the elements. The sun could rise this areas temperature easily up to about 180 degrees Fahrenheit [82.2 degrees Celsius] and was on average at about 100 degrees Fahrenheit [37.7 degrees Celsius]. There were absolutely no plants anywhere to be seen and no animals of any sort passed through. There weren’t even any bones as one got towards the center of the zone as nothing survived that far in. This dead area was about 100 mile wide and long in a oblong shape and surrounding it were some lower mountain but they could barely be seen in the distance.
Blood Mountain
One of the highest places on the homeland, a large mountain range with the peak being at about 30,000. The tops of the mountains are not covered in snow due to the atmosphere up there only containing about 20% of the normal oxygen supply but the temperature was quite cold. The top of this particular mountain where the spar was occurring was flat because of an earthquake which had sheered the top off for various reasons and so it was depressed in slightly. If someone did go over the edges though they would plummet about 25,000 feet before they came in contact with the side of the mountain and would most likely be impaled by pieces of rock which stick straight up. Most creatures, even supernatural ones wouldn't be able to survive something like that. The weather condition was usually quite interesting up there. Swirling around at the top were ominous looking clouds. The sky was usually practically black and the clouds were in a circular looking kind of nature and were highly charged. The sky, every few moments, would crackle and a flash would slice the sky in two before a thunder cracked snapped through the sky, easily bursting the ear drums of mortals. Each bolt carries about 60,000 amperes of electricity (average bolt on earth carrying 30,000). From the black clouds pours a dangerous rain; acid rain and it was red in nature and was almost like blood. This rain affects all the plant life on the mountain, which mostly is a few trees and shrubs that can survive the harsh temperatures and storms. To humans, or living beings, it will cause a slight burn to the flesh but will also eat away at anything metallic including weapons and even jewelry that may be on a person. The wind usually swirled. The weather was pretty much constant up here, cycling between this deadly storm and a break in the clouds every now and then.
Blackwood Forest
About 8 miles away from the Guild is a moderately dense forest, the trees easily reaching up about 100 feet and most trees about 7-12 feet away from each other (the spacing varies). The ground is mostly leaves with bits of wood from the trees on the ground as well (like a regular ground covering in a forest). It’s almost always dark in there, shadows reaching out from all spaces. The air was usually quite damp here yet it didn’t rain often. There was usually a greenish glow because of all the moss and one was not able to see the sky from standing on the ground, and once you walked about 50 feet in, looking back, you wouldn’t be able to see out and it went on for about 25 miles in all directions.
Sunken Valley
It’s a type of valley between mountains which rise to the sky surrounding the entire zone, save for a break in the peaks to get an entrance into the closed off area for those who didn’t wish to cross the treacherous mountains. If one were to be on the mountains, they were quite rocky and were prone to landslides. The peaks were capped with snow and were easily into the negative numbers for temperature wise. Rolling across the tops of the peaks usually was a fog which, because of the rain, slowly started to become thicker and, in the course of about 30 minutes cause the visibility to drop to about 500 yards. The shrubbery dotted the dipped area, lush grass coating the ground with patches of gravel, but that mostly was around the edges where the slopes of the mountains reached the flat ground. The ground in the canyon type zone was pretty much flat and spanned about 1-1.5 miles wide, dotted with animals here and there because the grass was so lush. Most animals, which mostly consisted of deer, were sleeping and dotting this zone. The sun would be rising in about 5 or so hours. As time progressed the rain would slowly get stronger and streaks of lightening would slice the sky in two with cracks of thunder echoing around the canyon, 5 times louder than regular thunder. This location is about 5 miles away from the main Guild hall.
The Needles
A valley of sort about 30 miles away from the Guild. It used to be a large river but it mostly dried up save for a small river running down the center of it. But what made it unique was the strange needle like stone structures which pointed straight upwards towards the sky. They easily reached as high as a 20 story building or higher into the sky and were as wide as 3-6 football fields at least. Some places it looked like needles while in others it was more similar to a back bone or scales or something like that but they all reached up into the sky, constantly casting shadows over the valley. It was usually quite chilly here but the grass was quite green and lush, yet it was always dark because of the nature of the valley.
Dark Lake
Dark Lake was a strange body of water and no one had tested the water because of the nature of it; the water pH being about 1.5 or so. The body of water was black in nature and surrounded by a forest, being closely located to the Blackwood Forest, on the far end of it, so it was about 33 miles away from the Guild. The ground was soil and covered in grass and by the edges of the lake it was quite unsteady because of the acidic water eating away at the edges and so it was known within the Guild not to venture to close to the waters edge as it could easily eat through armor and burn flesh quite severely.
Moon Beach
This was one of the few places on the planet where the large moon that was in the sky could be visible in the day time. Upon either side of this piece of beach were black cliffs that rose about 60 feet into the air and were jagged. If one was skilled they would be able to scale them but most wouldn’t, and falling would result most likely in death as the water just next to the cliffs covered rocks which were extremely sharp and dense. The waves here were gentle as it was in land and the waves were broken by the cliffs. The sand was soft and quite difficult to run in, like sand was, and a beautiful golden color that seemed to almost glow when the sun hit it in the correct angle. The water was practically a turquoise green because of the algae which was under the water, but was also partially because it was so pure. The wind was usually quite gentle here and the water was salty, quite saltier than regular sea water, more like that of the Dead Sea. This location was about 80 miles from the Guild as the Guild wasn’t located near most bodies of water except the Dark Lake which still was a good distance away.
The Ruins
Located near Moon Beach, about 2 miles up the cost, The Ruins stood. It was quite a tropical location, the water touching the shores and the grass gently resting in the water, rocks protruding from the water here and there trees covering the ground. It was extremely lush and while this was a positive it also brought some negatives. In this location were reptiles and creatures which were quite deadly, hence why the Guild wasn’t located here, yet did watch the land. There was a small path which lead to the ruins but nothing to stop the creatures which lurked in the trees which ranged from tiny spiders with venom strong enough that one bite could kill, to birds the side of small men who would decapitate a man with ease. The ruins were mostly church like buildings, all cavernous and large in nature, such as that of the main Guild hall. They were stable to walk among and great places to hide, train, or just relax, except for the creatures which sometimes passed through, though the benefit was all the creatures, except for the smaller spiders, made quite a noise. The temperature was usually about 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit [15.5-21.1 degrees Celsius] and a breeze usually came through the cavernous location. Most of the buildings are wrapped in ivies and the ground, as it is stone, has grass and weeds poking through which are completely harmless.
The Ruins Village
Just down the road from the beautiful ruins lay a small town. It was similar to the one located near the Guild but this one operated next to the ocean which was a good place to visit for fish and such. Otherwise the set up was similar to the local town.
The Cove
The Cove was located about half a mile down from Moon Beach, in the opposite direction from the Ruins. The cove essentially was just one large open beach with a rock formation which reached outwards into the water and had a hole cut through the center of it which let people pass through. It wasn’t as covered as Moon Beach, with the large cliffs, but it was set inland with pieces of land curving out into the water to shelter it. It was regular beach which slowly changed into grass and trees and such and was a simple, open location. The waves here were gentle as well and so this was a safer spot for more of a relaxation. Sparring could occur here, but because of the odd rocky jut, it wasn’t advised unless it was more hand to hand.
